- Offering a five-race series:
- 1st Race is 100 miles
- 2nd Race is 150 miles
- 3rd Race is 200 miles
- 4th Race is 250 miles
- 5th Race is 350 miles
- The Perch Fee is $100 per bird, 6 birds for $500 or 13 birds for $1,000.
- Accepting birds from February 20th to May 30th.
- Replacements birds from May 15th to May 30th
- The loft capacity is 500 birds.
- Activation fee is $250 per bird.
- The activation fee is due after the 100 Miles Activation Training.
- All birds on the team must be activated.
- 20% of entry fees will be held for race expenses.
- After the 100 miles we will contact each breeder to let them know about the limit of 10 days of Activation.
- The activation fees will be refunded if the bird does not make it to the 150 Mile Race.
- If birds are not activated within the 10 days activation period, they will become property of Kankakee Perch OLR and can be sold to other breeders
- All birds will be vaccinated with PMV and dewormed internally and externally as they enter during 15 days (minimum) before crossing the adapting area.
- Ship your birds the healthiest as you can and between Mondays and Tuesdays that way birds can arrive between Wednesday-Friday.
- Make sure to write your full name, phone number and address clearly on the mailing box.
- Payment of perch fee needs to arrive with the bird (non-refundable) this is used for bird care in general.
- Each breeder can send 1 extra bird as replacement, if your bird makes it all the way through the activation process, you will have to pay perch and activation fee for replacement bird and the bird will be added to your team.
- All birds will have their 9th and 10th flight pulled.
- The Dark System will be used.
- Races will be between September and October.
- Last race prizes are paid by the first drop then clocking order.
- We will be racing according to weather, meaning if weather is not good, we will move the race for when the weather permits. Examples: too windy, foggy, rain etc.
- All birds on race will be motivated the same way as I do every day in regular trainings.
- Participants must be 21 years of age or older to enter our race and responsible for their taxes duties.
- W-9 forms will need to be completed if winnings are $600 or more.
Measurements of loft areas are: 10 ft wide (interior), 14 ft wide (exterior) x 10 ½ ft tall (interior), 13 ft tall exterior) × 70 ft long.
